The floor leaders of the four major political parties have been able to reach a compromise on some matters and will convene a meeting in the next few days.
For starters, the opposition parties will put an end to their boycott of parliament -- which had been hindering President Moon Jae-in's Cabinet confirmation process.
The boycott came out of anger after President Moon appointed his pick for foreign minister, despite the National Assembly not endorsing her.
In fact, a string of nominees have been criticized for alleged misconduct -- despite President Moon's pledge to only put forward candidates with squeaky clean credentials.
In regards to this, they want the president to explain his part, and they also want to convene a meeting of the National Assembly's House Steering Committee -- which oversees issues surrounding the presidential secretaries' offices.
The bickering in parliament meant that the main opposition Liberty Korea Party and the splinter conservative Bareun Party didn't attend Wednesday's meeting where the parliament adopted a hearing report for transport minister nominee Kim Hyun-mee.
